Jaipur, 4 July: Prabha Khaitan Foundation and Spagia Foundation in association with ITC Rajputana organised a tree plantation today at the premises of ITC Rajputana to mark the World Environment Month.
Prominent social and cultural organisation representatives along with selected individuals planted trees together. Under privileged children supported by Spagia Foundation also helped in the planting ceremony.
The Chairperson of Spagia Foundation, Ms. Vinnie Kakkar said that for past two years it has been our proud privilege to get associated with Prabha Khaitan Foundation for tree plantation to mark the world environment month. The children are keen learners and by involving them they will take positive environmental action to protect nature and the planet Earth. Each child was given a sapling to plant it at their premises and be a guardian.”
General Manager of ITC Rajputana, Mr. Tejinder Singh said that the hotel stood by the commitment of ITC Chain of Hotels ‘Responsible Luxury’. 60% of the hotel’s entire energy demand is met through the captive windmills at Jaisalmer having 2.5MW capacity.
The organizations which participated in the plantation were: Aarohini, CII, Divas, FICCI Rajasthan, FICCI FLO, Help in Suffering, People’s Media Theatre, Raksha, Rang Mastane, Roop Rang Kala Sanskar, Shruti Mandal, Siyahi, We Care, Grass Root Media Foundation, Rajasthan Forum and Star Foundation.
