Press Release

Students of Centre for Design Excellence,Vivekananda Global University in Jaipur – Hemant, Harshvardhan, Pratishtha, Abhishek and Jhanvi prepared a live painting of Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK) on the occasion of its 28th Foundation Day on Thursday. It was gifted to Jawahar Kala Kendra by the institute. The painting featured the central space of Jawahar Kala Kendra — Madhyavarti. It has been prepared on separate wooden strips.

The painting has been created keeping in mind the significance of positive and negative space in art. By cutting up pinewood strips, the students first painted on the joined wood strips using acrylic paint. After which the strips were separated from each other to create negative space. Based on the principle of continuity, despite the gaps present in the final painting, the eyes perceive it as a complete image by creating an illusion.
