Rambagh Golf Club is
celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. In the year 1944,
Late Maharani Gayatri Devi developed an interest in this sport during her visit
to Kashmir. Immediately after her return to Jaipur, she established the Rambagh
Golf Club in the Rambagh Palace premises. This was informed by the Captain
of the Club, Mr. Yogendra Singh at a press briefing.
Mr. Singh further said that in the course of 75 years, various kinds of
development and changes have taken place.This course is renowned
internationally and is an important site for both golf and tourism. Around 1800
members of the club are benefitting from the environment at the club.
The Secretary of the
Organizing Committee and Treasurer of the Club, Mr. Mahesh Sharma
said that on this occasion the management committee of Rambagh Golf Club
is organizing a felicitation ceremony for the former captains on 20 December at
8 pm. In this event, renowned people of the city will also attend this event.
On 21 and 22 December, a game of golf will also be held in which 150 golfers
are participating. Many teams from outside Jaipur are also participating in
this tournament. These teams are coming from Kolkata, Patna, Noida, Chandigarh,
Agra and Jodhpur. Apart from this 100 players from Rambagh Golf Club are
participating in this tournament. The tournament will be played in stableford
format and prizes will be given in veteran category and team category.
