A week long ‘Gandhi Utsav’ was inaugurated by the Minister of Art & Culture, Government of Rajasthan, Dr. BD Kalla at Jawahar Kala Kendra. As a part of the Utsav, three exhibitions on Mahatma Gandhi – ‘Gandhi Parv Exhibition’, ‘MG @ 150’, ‘Gandhi Virasat Kagazkala’ are being held till 30 January at the Alankar and Surekh art galleries of JKK. A play ‘Mahatma in Making’ directed by Kajal Soori was also staged. Director General, JKK, Kiran Soni Gupta and Additional Director General (Technical), Mr. Furqan Khan was also present on the occasion.
On the occasion, Rajasthan Minister of Art & Culture, Dr. BD Kalla went around the exhibitions and appreciated the art works displayed. He said that Gandhi’s teachings are useful and inspirational for generation. The exhibitions at JKK are a part of the yearlong celebrations by Government of Rajasthan for 150 years of Mahatma Gandhi and 75 years of Rajiv Gandhi. The various art works displayed in the exhibition are based on the life and message of Gandhi, the Minister added. Dr. Kalla also felicitated the artists of the exhibition and the play director
