The Legal Aid Clinic, School of Law, Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ) organized a Legal Awareness Camp in collaboration with District Legal Services Authorities Jaipur, Rajasthan. The camp was held at the Legal Aid Clinic building for spreading legal awareness and facilitating access to justice for the residents of Dehmi Kalan and other nearby villages of Manipal University Jaipur.
The Chief Guest of the camp was Ms Ashka Rao, Secretary, District Legal Services Authorities Jaipur and the camp was presided by Prof. (Dr.) G.K. Prabhu, President, Manipal University Jaipur in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) N.N. Sharma, Pro-President, Manipal University Jaipur, Prof. (Dr.) Nitu Bhatnagar, Registrar, Manipal University Jaipur, Prof. (Dr.) Vijaylaxmi Sharma, Director, School of Law, Manipal University Jaipur and Dr Sony Kulshrestha, Head of the Department, School of Law, Manipal University Jaipur. On the occasion, the Sarpanch of Dehmi Kalan Village, Shri Ganesh Kumawat was also present. All other esteemed faculty members, and students of Legal Aid Clinic, School of Law, MUJ were present at the camp.
The event began with the welcome address and felicitation of the Chief Guest of Prof. (Dr.) N.N. Sharma, Pro-President, Manipal University Jaipur, and Prof. (Dr.) Nitu Bhatnagar, Registrar, Manipal University Jaipur. The Chief Guest addressed the gathering and shared various schemes of NALSA and RSLSA for access to justice and availing other facilities as provided by various Government schemes.
The President of the Manipal University Jaipur, Prof. (Dr.) G.K. Prabhu expressed his deep sense of appreciation towards Legal Aid Clinic, School of Law, MUJ and thanked the Chief Guest and DLSA, Jaipur for collaborating on the legal awareness camp.
The Director of the School of Law, Prof. (Dr.) Vijaylaxmi Sharma shared her vision of social justice and expressed the commitment of Legal Aid Clinic, School of Law, MUJ for the upliftment of society.
Mr Amit Yadav, Assistant Professor, School of Law, MUJ also imparted awareness about legal rights and judicial means to access those rights in case of any violation.
The President, of Legal Aid Clinic, Piyush Kumar Roy (4th year Law Student) spoke about the involvement of Law students in providing effective legal aid to the society and highlighted other projects of Legal Aid Clinic, School of Law, MUJ.
Later, a one-day seminar was also organized by Legal Aid Clinic, School of Law, Manipal University Jaipur in collaboration with District Legal Services Authorities Jaipur, Rajasthan, on the occasion of Earth Day. The Chief Guest of the event, Ms Ashka Rao, Secretary, DLSA, Jaipur shared her thoughts on environmental laws and the aim of sustainable development. On the occasion, the esteemed faculty members as well the students of the School of Law, Manipal University Jaipur expressed their opinion on safeguarding the environment for a better and safe future.
