On the occasion of Civil Services Day, the family of Late Dr Rakesh Hooja, IAS officer, released a catalogue of his writings and publications. He belonged to the 1974 batch and served as ACS Development and Chairman, Board of Revenue before taking premature retirement to become the Director of the Indian Institute of Public Administration. The catalogue was released by Rajesh Sharma, Editor-in-Chief, Rashtradoot, Meenakshi Hooja (wife of Rakesh Hooja) and Rima Hooja (sister of Rakesh Hooja).

On the occasion Rajesh Sharma, who was Dr. Hooja’s contemporary in St. Xaviers’s School, shared his fond memories with the bureaucrat. Mr. Sharma also threw light on his experience of the changing nature of Civil services from the perspective of a journalist.

Former Chief Secretary (Retired) of Rajasthan, Inderjeet Khanna also shared his insights on civil services on the occasion.

It is to be noted that Dr Hooja was also a very academically inclined person. He had authored over 460 published writings including articles, monographs and books on administration, development, water management, Panchayati Raj, public policy, etc. His family has collected all those books and made a comprehensive catalogue for the readers.
