‘Motivated by Life – Undaunted by Strife’, the memoirs of the former Rajasthan Chief Secretary, former Union Home Secretary and former Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Mr M.M.K. Wali were launched at the Ashok Club. The event was hosted by the IAS Association, Rajasthan. This book has been edited by Ms. Charu Wali Khanna, daughter of Mr. Wali and Mr. Ajay Singha.

The book was launched by the Secretary, Science and Technology and literary secretary of the IAS Association, Rajasthan, Ms. Mugdha Sinha; Ms. Charu Wali Khanna; Mr. Ajay Singha and Mr. Sudhir Mathur. On the occasion, Ms. Sinha said that she has read this book and it gives a great insight into the tenure of Mr. Wali. She complimented the editors for having compiled the book painstakingly.

This book offers a ringside view of Mr Wali’s tenure as the Union Home Secretary at the time of momentous happenings like – Operation Blue Star, the assassination of Indira Gandhi and the riots thereafter as well as his time as the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi. A large number of anecdotes and personal disclosures along with some evocative poetry make the book hugely readable.

During the event, the editors of the book, Ms. Charu Wali Khanna and Mr. Ajay Singha threw light on the process of writing and editing the book while former IAS officer, Mr. J P Singh and Mr. Sudhir Mathur shared memories of the life and times of Mr. Wali. |

A large number of former senior IAS officers and colleagues of Mr Wali attended the event.
