Professional Kathak dancer from Pune, Nayantara Parpia will be presenting a Kathak dance performance on Friday (29September) at Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK). With over 20 years of training under two illustrious gurus of the Lucknow gharana, Smt. Yogini Gandhi and Pandit Birju Maharajji, Nayantara has carved a niche for herself, both as a soloist as well as with her performing troupe. She runs her own school in Pune, called “Tridhaara Institute of Kathak”, where she trains students in dance, Hindustani music and traditional yoga.
Performing in Jaipur for the first time, Nayantara and the Tridhaara troupe, along with their team of 5 musicians, will be presenting “Kathak Kaleidoscope”, a series of traditional compositions taking the audience on a journey across the various shades of Kathak through solo and group choreographies.
The programme will be held at 7 pm on Friday at Rangayan. The entry to the programme is free and on first come first serve basis.
