The various programmes organised on the eve of Indian Independence Day, as a part of the ongoing ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, concluded with a mesmerizing Kathak performance, ‘Kathak Amrit’ at Rangayan. The performance was presented by eminent Kathak artiste of the Jaipur Gharana, Shri Chetan Kumar Javda. Director General, JKK, Ms Mugdha Sinha and Additional Director General (Admin.), JKK, Dr Anuradha Gogiya were also present on the occasion.

The cultural performance began with ‘Vande Mataram’. This was followed by pure traditional style Kathak which comprised of ‘Thaat’, ‘Aamad’, ‘Paran’, ‘Tihaai’ and ‘Chakradaar Bandish’. The artiste concluded the performance with the Bhajan ‘Vaishnav Jan To’. He was accompanied by Shri Ramesh Mewal (Harmonium & Vocal), Shri Bhavdeep Javda (Pakhaawaj & Padhant), Shri Muzaffar Rehman (Tabla) and Janab Ameeruddin Khan (Sarangi)

It is to be recalled that the five key themes of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ are – ‘Freedom Struggle’, ‘Ideas at 75’, ‘Achievements at 75’, ‘Action at 75’ and ‘Resolve at 75’.
