Rajsamand MP, Diya Kumari, has urged the Rajasthan Chief Minister, Ashok Gehlot to waive off the electricity and water charges for the residents of the State.

In the letter to the Chief Minister, sent on Monday, Diya Kumari stated that the Corona pandemic has led to a total lockdown in the country. The lockdown has economically impacted the people in the State. Looking at the current situation, she appealed that the State Government take a sympathetic view and waive off the electricity and water charges.

In another letter to the Chief Minister, sent on Sunday, Diya Kumari said that a lot of people (including labour) from her constituency Rajsamand as well as other parts of Rajasthan work in other States. They are mainly in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

These people have left their place of work for their hometowns and villages in Rajasthan and unfortunately have got stuck on the way. In fact, a lot of non-resident Rajasthanis are on the borders of the State.

She appealed to the Chief Minister to provide such migrant natives of Rajasthan accommodation, food, medical check-up and treatment as well as screening.
