- Pakhawaj, Surbahar and Vocal Recital by renowned artistes
- ‘Sanghosthi’ to discuss various themes relating to Dhruvpad
A 3 day Hindustani classical music programme entitled ‘Dhruvpad’ will be held at Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK) from 14 September to 16 September. Over the course of three days renowned artistes will render vocal recitals as well as performances on Pakhawaj and Surbahar.
On day one (14 September), Dr. Madhu Bhatt Tailang and Dr. Rajkhushiram will present vocal and Pakhawaj recital respectively. On the second day the performance will begin with a vocal recital by Mrs. Sunita Avani Amin followed by a Surbahar recital by Dr. Ashwin M Dalvi. There will also be a vocal recital by Dagar brothers – Ustad Annesuddin Khan Dagar and Ustad Nafeesuddin Khan Dagar.
On the concluding day of the event, vocal recitals by Pandit Ramkumar Mallick and Mr. Samit Mallick will be held. This will be followed by a Pakhawaj Recital by Pandit Mohan Shyam Sharma. The highlight of the evening will be the performance by Padma Shri Ustad F. Wasifuddin Dagar.
A special feature of the Dhruvpad festival this year will be a ‘Sangoshthi’ which will be organized on 15 and 16 September from 10 am to 1.30 pm at JKK. This will feature discussion on topics related to Dhruvpad like ‘Naad Yog in Dhruvpad’, ‘Dhruvpad in present times’, ‘Dhruvpad singing and recital’, among others.
The Dhruvpad performances will be held each day at 6 pm at Krishnayan, Jawahar Kala Kendra. The entry to the evening programme is through tickets (Rs 30) which can be obtained from JKK’s reception.
