“YOU SHOULD BECOME YOUR OWN CEO”
— Chief Election Commissioner, Sunil Arora
In today’s age, students are becoming their own CEOs by establishing their start-ups. There is a different level of satisfaction in becoming your own CEO. Even though it takes time and effort to become an entrepreneur but if one can provide employment to even 10 people, one will be counted as a productive citizen for the economy. This was stated by the Chief Election Commissioner, Mr. Sunil Arora at Manipal University in Jaipur while he was addressing the Orientation Programme of the B.Tech students as the Chief Guest. The Orientation Programme was attended by over 1000 students and their parents.
He further said that while in college, it is important to both clear the exams as well as acquire knowledge. When one starts working – be it their own startup or in a corporate – one must analyze what one is giving back to the society. Mr. Arora also said that in the last election of India, there were as many as 600 million voters and the turn-out of women voters was also significantly higher than the previous elections. Increasingly more young people are voting. Voting is the brick and mortar on which the entire edifice of democracy is built, he added.
