Jaipur, 23 February: The Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Ms Nirmala Sitharaman will inaugurate the 4th India – CLMV (Cambodia, Laos PDR, Myanmar and Vietnam) Business Conclave at 1030 hrs on 27 February, 2017 at ITC Rajputana in Jaipur. Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Smt Vasundhara Raje is also expected to join at the Inaugural Session.

 

The Conclave will be addressed by H.E. Pan Sorasak, Minister of Commerce, Cambodia; H.E. Dr Than Myint, Union Minister, Minister of Commerce, Myanmar; H.E. Mr. Cao Quoc Hung; Vice Minister of Industry and Trade, Vietnam.

 

Some senior Corporates and industry Speakers include Mr Naushad Forbes, President CII; Mr Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General, CII; Mr Ali R Rizvi, Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India; Mr Shreekant Somany, Chairman & Managing Director, Somany Ceramics Limited; Mr Debasish Mallick, Deputy Managing Director, Export-Import Bank of India, Mr Sanjay Kirloskar, Chairman & Managing Director, Kirloskar Brothers Limited; Mr. T R Kesavan, President & COO, TAFE Limited, Dr. Pulijala Srinivasa Rao, CEO, Apollo MedSkills Limited; Mr Rahul Munjal, Chairman & Managing Director, Hero Future Energies Pvt Ltd, etc.

 

The two-day Conclave is organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry. It will deepen and strengthen India’s economic cooperation with the CLMV group.

 

The CLMV group of least-developing countries (LDCs) in the ASEAN region have been accorded special attention in the Indian Government’s Act East policy, which includes financial incentives for deepening Indian industry’s footprint in the region. The Business Conclave is of interest to Indian companies seeking investment and trade opportunities to leverage the abundant natural resources of these LDCs.

 

Areas to be covered in the India – CLMV Business Conclave include Manufacturing, Renewable Energy, Agriculture and Skilling. The Conclave aims to identify specific project opportunities and seek business partnerships in the region. The two-day programme will consist of B to B meetings and sectoral sessions, country sessions and business to business meetings and will focus on sectors such as Pharma, Healthcare, Agri Business, Food processing, Gems & Jewellery, Textiles, Leather, Renewable Energy, Skills, Education, to name a few.

 

All the four countries are bringing their industry and Government delegation. The expected no of International participants is around 80. Many Indian and domestic delegates have also confirmed to attend who are coming from various parts of India.
