The third edition of the ‘Raymond MTV India Music Summit (IMS)2019 – Ek Sachha Sur’ will celebrate the ‘Sounds of Love’ in a very special series of performances on 5th October. The Summit due to be held from 4 to 6 October at Fairmont in Jaipur is the largest gathering of musicians of every genre . From Classical to folk to Sufi and even Bollywood- concerts and conversations from dawn to dusk to dawn – aficionados will be able witness the crème de la crème of the music fraternity under one roof.
The 3-day festival is being organised with the aim of celebrating the rich and diverse music genres of India. Organized by the ‘Musiconcepts Private Limited’ – the brain child of Ambika Srivastava, Mala Sekhri and Aparna Joshi – the event is expected to attract over 5000 music loversfrom Jaipur and across India. The mentor for the Summit is celebrated author, poet and lyricist Prasoon Joshi .
The theme on 5 October will be ‘The Sounds of Love’ where in a string of performances ranging from Devotional to Sufi to Bollywood and Beyond- The Summit explores different dimensions of this very powerful emotion which is the subject of much of our music.
Delhi based author, poetry and literature-critic, Lawyer and Urdu lover, Dr. Saif Mahmood will take us through the different genres and moods of love. Starting with an ode to Durga by Classical Artist Kaushiki Chakraborty on the occasion of the Navratri’s to a very special exploration of Frenzy – The Powerful combination of VikkuVinayakram Ghatam Maestro,Taufiq Qureshi – master percussionist and Shujaat Khan India’s Top Sitar Player will present ‘Junoon’.
This will be followed by Javed Ali, popularly known for his Indian playback singing in Bollywood films in a special unplugged set. His soulful voice is not to be missed by music enthusiasts who enjoy the vocalist’s distinct style.Javed Ali will sing love songs as only he can.
The night will take a turn for the spiritual and divine with a high energy Qawwali performance by the legendary Qawwal, Aslam Sabri and his troupe. For those who want more – A special late night Thumri recital by the Rockstar Ustaad Rashid Khan will follow.
