Jaipur, 11 October: Mr. Denis Manturov, Hon’ble Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation met the Rajasthan Chief Minister, Smt. Vasundhara Raje here today. There were discussions on areas of Russia – Rajasthan collaboration on several areas including mining and agriculture.

The Russian Minister was accompanied by a high level delegation comprising of senior Government officials from Moscow, Tula region, the Khabarovsk Territory, the Sverdlovsk region, and representative of Business Russia. The visit follows Rajasthan Chief Minister Smt. Raje’s participation in the international industrial trade fair ‘INNOPROM 2016’, held in Russia earlier this year.

“There is a strong potential for growth in specifically Rajasthan’s trade with Russia.With increasing economic growth, the infrastructure requirements in Rajasthan are growing and Russia can help address this need. Russia can complement Rajasthan’s efforts in strengthening the state’s engineering industry, specifically in automotive, mines & minerals,” said Chief Minister Raje.

Earlier in the day the Russian business delegation attended the Russia-Rajasthan Business Forum organized by Government of Rajasthan and Confederation of Indian industry (CII).

Along with the Rajasthan Industries Minister, Shri Gajendra Singh Khimsar; Additional Chief Secretary, Industries, Shri Umesh Kumar and Commissioner Investment & NRI and MD, RIICO, Shri VaibhavGalriya were present at the Forum.

In his address, the Rajasthan Industries Minister, Shri Gajendra Singh Khimsar said, “Our relations with Russia have been unique, covering almost every field of human endeavor. We have robust opportunities for partnership in the field of defense, energy, science and technology and other areas. From this platform, I take this opportunity to invite companies from Russia to partner with us in Make in Rajasthan initiative of our able Chief Minister and establish manufacturing facilities in Rajasthan.”

The event saw significant presence of Indian business houses from Rajasthan interested in pursuing business and investment ties with Russian business. Business to business meetings between Russian and Indian business and industry houses organised in the sideline of the event.

The Russian delegation also visited the Mahindra World City, a joint venture between Mahindra Lifespace Developers Limited (MLDL) and Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO). It hosts around 65 Indian and global companies spread over 4,600 acres in Jaipur.
