In the presence of theGovernor of Rajasthan, Shri Kalraj Mishra and Minister of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, Shri Vishvendra Singh, the Principal Secretary of Tourism, Ms. Sreya Guha and Director, Western Zone Cultural Centre (WZCC), Udaipur, Mr. Sudhanshu Singh signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at Raj Bhawan. The objective of the MOU between the two organisations is cultural exchange and promotion of rich cultural heritage of the State. It will also promote culture among youth. This initiative has been taken by the Governor himself. On the occasion he said that this agreement will promote tourism and there will an increase in both domestic and foreign tourist arrivals.
According to the MOU, WZCC will provide artistes for 11 fair and festivals organized by Rajasthan Tourism. These fairs and festivals are: Wagar (Dungarpur), Chandrabhaga (Jhalawar), Bundi, Ranakpur (Pali), Chittorgarh, Camel Fair (Bikaner), Desert Festival (Jaisalmer), Baneshwar (Dungarpur), Mewar (Udaipur), and Rajasthan Festival (Jaipur). While the regional tourism offices will provide facilities for sound, light, stage, as well as accommodation and local transportation for the artistes, the WZCC will provide their daily remuneration and food allowance.
In turn, the Rajasthan Tourism will promote 3 events of the WZCC including ‘Sharad Rang’ and ‘Ritu Basant’.
