On the occasion of ‘August Kranti Divas’, Minister of Art & Culture, Government of Rajasthan, Dr. B.D. Kalla virtually inaugurated the ‘Video Wall’ at Ravindra Manch. Also present on the occasion were – Secretary, Department of Art & Culture, Government of Rajasthan, Ms. Mugdha Sinha; Manager, Ravindra Manch, Ms. Shipra Sharma; Director of Archaeology and Museum, Mr. P.C. Sharma and Assistant Professor, University of Rajasthan, Mr. Abhimanyu Singh. The programme was broadcasted live on the Facebook page of Department of Art & Culture, Rajasthan.

On the occasion, the Minister said that the aim of the video wall is to showcase live cultural programmes of Ravindra Manch to the people free of cost. Apart from this, information regarding Government schemes will also be given through this wall. On the occasion, he also recollected the major role of freedom fighter, Shri Vijay Singh Pathik who was the initiator of the Bijolia movement. This movement was appreciated not only by Mahatma Gandhi but also by many other national leaders. The role Pathik played during the Indian independence movement can never be forgotten by the countrymen, he said. He also urged the people to take a pledge to combat evils with their minds, words and deeds and always work towards the betterment of the country.

Ms. Mugdha Sinha highlighted the contribution of Rajasthan in the ‘Quit India Movement’ on the occasion of August Kranti Divas. She also said that online inaugurations are becoming more relevant in the present perspective.

Later, Mr. Singh gave an in-depth presentation on the ‘Quit India Movement’ with special focus on the various cities of Rajasthan namely, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur and Kota. Apart from this he also highlighted the role of women and youth during the independence movement. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. P.C. Sharma.
