To empower women at the grass-roots level a financial assistance of Rs. 10 lakhs and 2 transport vehicles (Renault Lodgy) were handed over to the Princess Diya Kumari Foundation (PDKF) at City Palace in Jaipur. In the presence of Princess Diya Kumari of Jaipur, the Founder of CCC (Club des Chefs des Chefs), Mr. Gilles Bragard presented the cheque to PDKF.

The contribution was raised at a ‘charity dinner’ held at Plaza Athenee Hotel in Paris in November 2017. For this dinner, the meal was prepared by the Executive Chef of the President of India from Rashtrapati Bhawan, Mr. Montu Saini. During the presentation ceremony at the City Palace Mr. Montu Saini was also present along with Mr. Franck Panier, the Executive Chef of His Royal Highness the Grand Duke of Luxembourg. It is to be noted that CCC is an association of the Executive Chefs of global heads of state (Presidents, Kings, Queens, etc.).

Furthermore, for safe transportation of women and girls for education and economic empowerment purposes in Jaipur and Sawai Madhopur –  two Renault Lodgy’s were also handed over to PDKF by the Renault Group. Mr Jatin Aggarwal, Head of PR and Communications, Renault India was also present on the occasion.

It is noteworthy that these vehicles will facilitate women from distant areas to their place of work and education (handicrafts centres and schools). These 2 vehicles are a part of the project’s pilot phase. Next year Renault plans to provide more vehicles for the use of the Foundation for similar purposes.

Princess Diya Kumari established the Princess Diya Kumari Foundation in order to work at a grass-roots level for sustainable empowerment, engagement, enrichment and involvement of deprived communities in Rajasthan, with a special focus on women and girls. The Foundation seeks to improve lives through the generation of sustainable livelihood programs that improve standards of living, and create a healthier and more sustainable socio-economic environment.
