To pay condolences to the bereaved family and to pray for the departed soul of Shri Sandeep Madan, a prayer meeting was held at Krishnayan, Jawahar Kala Kendra. Visitors gathered in large numbers to pay floral tribute to the photo of Shri Madan. Prayer Songs (Kirtan) were also rendered on the occasion. Curator, Jawahar Kala Kendra, Shri Abdul Lateef Usta addressed the gathering.
Shri Sandeep Madan passed away on 4 September after a cardiac arrest. Shri Madan was the Programme Officer for the Theatre wing. He was also counted among the senior artistes of the state who directed a large number of plays. The iconic annual summer theatre workshop at Jawahar Kala Kendra was his brainchild.
In the light of the sad and untimely demise of Shri Madan, the 3 day Poetry Festival which was scheduled to be held at JKK from 9 to 11 September 2017 has been postponed.
