The Princess Diya Kumari Foundation (PDKF) received the prestigious ‘5thWomen ASTITVA SAMMAN 2020 Award’ from the PHD Chambers Family Welfare Foundation’s Woman & Child Committee in Delhi. The award was for promoting women empowerment.

The award was presented by President, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr. D K Aggarwal and Chairperson, Woman and Child Committee, PHD Family Welfare Foundation, Ms. Anuradha Goel to Executive Director, PDKF, Ms. Shivina Kumari and General Secretary, PDKF, Ms. Rama Datt.

President, PDKF, Princess Diya Kumari said “We are honoured to receive this award for our work in women’s empowerment and would like to thank PHD Women and Child Committee Family Welfare Foundation for this recognition.” Ms. Shivina Kumari said “We are very grateful for this recognition and believe when you empower one woman you empower their whole family and their community.”

Chairperson, PHDFWF, Ms. Anuradha Goel said “The PHD Woman and Child Committee Family Welfare Foundation family looks forward to a meaningful association with the Princess Diya Kumari Foundation.”

About PDKF
Princess Diya Kumari Foundation has been working for over 5 years for the empowerment of disadvantaged women and girls in the rural areas of Rajasthan. PDKF works in 5 centres across Rajasthan and the core program areas are skill building & livelihoods, girl’s education, financial and digital literacy and health & hygiene. PDKF stresses on the economical empowerment of women by helping them set up bank accounts paying via bank transfer to avoid money changing hands and also conducts ‘Financial literacy workshops’ to train ladies in the usage of banking services, ATM  cards and awareness on fraudulent related to money.

PDKF’s Project Pragati focuses to create sustainable livelihoods for women in the rural areas of Rajasthan.

PDKF’s Shiksha Diya Project, supports education of underprivileged girls by providing scholarships and also provides digital literacy courses for future employments. Shiksha Diya Project also has component on adolescent health and menstrual hygiene.
