Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK) in collaboration with the French Embassy in India will be starting 100 hours of French language classes, DELF and DALF certifications under the Ministry of Education, France and cultural activities in offline, online and hybrid modes. In this regard, Director General, JKK, Ms Mugdha Sinha met Director, French Embassy in India, Mr Emmanuel Lebraun Damien and Coordinator of the Alliance Francaise Network in India, Ms Alice Gauny at JKK recently. The French language courses are open for registration. Those interested can register on https://forms.gle/Ahiz8NsFhN97PB2Z8. JKK will also be hosting various programs as part of and as a run-up to the ‘Bonjour India Festival’ in January 2022.

Through this initiative, students will have the opportunity to learn languages through active teaching and learning. Real-world situations will be used to build lessons and to develop skills of conversation and listening. The classroom will nurture an environment where the learners irrespective of their level will be immersed in a French environment from the very first day. Classroom teaching will be mixed with workshops.

Learning the French language offers many career options like becoming a French teacher and working for embassies, cultural and humanitarian organisations. Apart from this, one can also work as a translator or interpreter with any international organisations in India, NGOs, MNCs or the Alliance Francaise network. The classes are also a great opportunity to immerse oneself in French culture, read books, enjoy films and music. Similarly, learning the French language is also helpful to study in France, work within the tourism sector or in running a business.
