Chief Guest at the Oath Ceremony of Lioness Club
Princess Diya Kumari today urged for saving the girl child. She was speaking at the Oath Ceremony of the Lioness Club Jaipur Main held at the Hotel Red Fox in Jaipur.
She said that since she is the Rajasthan brand ambassador of the ‘Save the Girl Child’, she has closely observed gender bias and inequality in the society. This is even more disturbing that the families which are educated and well off have this problem of gender bias. Considering it, she strongly urged all members to take up the cause of girl child in earnestness.
The Princess further highlighted the progress of girls in education sector as well as in various professions like defence forces including as fighter pilots, police, civil services. She said that the girls have proven to be equally good with the boys in any field.
The Sawai Madhopur MLA also appreciated the work being done by the Lioness Club in terms of taking up stand against child marriages and infanticide. On the occasion, the Princess congratulated the new President, Lioness Club Jaipur Main, Ms. Vijay Laxmi and the other office bearers and wished them the best for their future endeavours.
