On 10 December evening, Kota Electricity Distribution Limited (KEDL) organized a Consumer Meet on the benefits of Smart Meter at ‘Ashirwad Anandam’ situated at Srinathpuram in Kota city.
Through a PowerPoint Presentation, the KEDL team comprising of technical experts explained the how a consumer gets all the information about his power consumption easily on his mobile or laptop after installing a Smart Meter. The consumers can also keep a track of the electricity savings as this information is available in every 15 minutes of power consumption. With the smart meter, a meter reader is also not required to take the readings at the consumer’s residence. Furthermore, there is absolutely no possibility of error in bill reading due to human negligence.
It was also informed by the team that the consumer does not have to bother to file a complaint if power is shut down as the Smart Meter automatically updates the information at the company’s command station. Thereafter the company team reaches at the spot and immediately fixes the fault. KEDL further informed that the there is no need to install two separate meters even after installing a solar system as the Smart meter works for both the meters.
On this occasion, a lucky draw was also drawn and prizes were distributed to the consumers.
