On the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of His Highness Brigadier Maharaja Sawai Bhawani Singh MVC of Jaipur, ‘Sawai Jaipur Awards 2023’, the prestigious annual awards ceremony was organised at the Pritam Chowk of the City Palace. The photograph of Shri Govind Dev Ji was garlanded and the lighting of the lamp was done by Princess Diya Kumari and Princess Gauravi Kumari. Later, the late Maharaja’s photograph was also garlanded. Royal Family members then made offerings to the ‘Dharamgurus’ and received their blessings. The awards consist of Rs 31,000 cash, a shawl,’Ganga Jali’, a citation and a ‘Shrifal’.
The awards given for outstanding work in various fields were – Raja Dulha Rai Award for social work (Shri Prem Singh Bajor); Raja Kakil Dev Award for Excellence in Preservation of Heritage and Architecture (Aga Khan Trust for Culture); Raja Pajvan Dev Award for Excellence in the field of Medicine (Dr Sanjeev K Sharma); Raja Bhagwant Das Award for Excellence in Traditional Crafts of Jaipur (Shri Kailash Soni); Raja Man Singh I Award for Bravery (2nd Lt Puneet Nath Datt, Ashok Chakra (Posthumous)); Mirza Raja Jai Singh I Award for distinguished service in the armed forces (Major Gen. Sudhakar Jee, VSM (retd)); Mirza Raja Ram Singh I Award for Excellence in Ecological Balancing and Improvement in Environment (Shri Ramswaroop Vishnoi); Maharaja Vishan Singh Award for Excellence in Travel, Tourism & Museum Development (Shri Rajendra Singh Pachar); Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II Award for Excellence in the field of Astronomy and related sciences (Dr Alok Sharma); Maharaja Sawai Ishwari Singh Award for Excellence in the field of Journalism (Dr Jagdeesh Chandra); Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh I Award for excellence in enhancing the image of Rajasthan in India and abroad (Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)); Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh Award for Excellence in the field of Literature and Education (Dr Deodatt Sharma); Maharaja Sawai Jagat Singh Award for Excellence in Art, Painting and Sculpture (Shri Gopal Swami Khetanchi); H.H. Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh II Award for Excellence in the field of Photography and Journalism (Shri Anchit Natha), and H.H. Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh II Award for Excellence in the field of Theatre, Films & Television (Shri Ashok Rahi).
Furthermore, other awards were given in the category of H.H. Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Award for Excellence in the field of Sports (Ms Anuya Prasad); H.H. Maharani Marudhar Kanwar Award for excellence in services in MSMS II Museum Trust, JPCT (Shri Shambhu Singh); H.H. Maharani Kishore Kanwar Award for excellence in Performing Arts (Ms Manjiri Kiran Mahajani); H.H. Rajmata Gayatri Devi Award for Women’s Excellence (Ms Savitri Kunadi); H.H. Maharaja Sawai Bhawani Singh Award for Excellence in the field of Business and Industry (Shri Sanjay Garg); H.H. Rajmata Padmini Devi Award for excellence in loyal & disciplined services to the Royal Family of Jaipur (Smt Umarav Kanwar and Shri Gordhan); Princess Diya Kumari Award for achiever in any field (Dr Mohan Shrimali); H.H. Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh Award for young achiever in the field of Sports (Ms Divyakriti Singh), Rajkumari Gauravi Kumari Award for person or organisation with exemplary achievement in start-up, innovation or invention with great social impact (Shri Vinod Sadh (Raja) The East West Designer’s), H.H. Maharaja Lakshraj Prakash of Sirmaur Award for oustanding achivement in any field (Drops of Hope) and The Royal Family of Jaipur Award for exceptional services rendered to The Royal Family of Jaipur on different occasions (Ms Meenakshi Kumari).
