The Secretary, Department of Science Technology, Government of Rajasthan, Ms. Mugdha Sinha today appealed for a R&D collaboration between the Department, the industry and the academia to deliver fruitful results in the fight against the pandemic. Ms. Sinha was giving the opening remarks at the one-day webinar at Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ). She emphasised on the need for development to make India self-reliant.
In his inaugural address, Registrar, MUJ, Prof. Dr H.R. Kamath mentioned the rise of the University to the first NAAC A+ grade state private University within a short span of only about nine years.
In the technical session, Prof. Varghese from University of Houston, USA; Prof. Reaz from the National University of Malaysia; Prof. Murthy from IBAB, Bengaluru, Prof Kumar from IISc, Bangalore and Prof. Ranjan from University of Johannesburg, South Africa highlighted the R&D perspective of Physicist’s response in fighting the pandemic caused by COVID-19. All technical sessions were followed by lively interaction. There were 210 registered participants.
Earlier, Dean, Faculty of Science, MUJ, Prof A K Mukhopadhyay; Director, School of Basic Sciences (SBS), MUJ, Prof. Dr Ms. Lalita Ledwani and Head, Department of Physics, SBS, MUJ & Convener of the webinar, Dr P Kumar, welcomed the guests.
