As a part of its weekend cultural activities, Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK) will witness a Bharatnatyam recital entitled ‘Nritpriya’ on Friday (24 November). Renowned artiste Dr. Gyanendra Dutt Bajpayee, who is a disciple of Padmabhushan Guru Saroja Vaidyanath, will be performing at the event.
‘Nrittpriya’ essentially means lover of dance and the movements in the performance will be dedicated to the Lord of Dance – Lord Shiva. It is worth noting that Dr. Gyanendra has performed over 5,000 times in India and has also presented his dance abroad.
The programme is being held in collaboration with Aangekam Dance Institute. The artiste and dancers will perform under the direction of Ms. Nikita Mudgal who is the founder of Angeekam Dance Institute. The performance will be held on 24 November at 7 pm at Rangayan. The entry to the event is open to all. On 22 and 23 November, there will also be a Master Class as well in Krishnayan in JKK from 11 am to 1 pm by Dr. Gyanendra and Ms. Nikita Mudgal.
