As many as 41 students of Class 10, 11 and 12 from Seth Anandi Lal Poddar Institute of Deaf visited the City Palace Museum on 04 December. The children participated in a special guided walkthrough of the Palace. This was followed by an art activity which took place at the art gallery of City Palace. The children were provided with colours and drawing pads to showcase their creativity and capture what they saw during the walkthrough.

Students from as many as 11 schools of Jaipur will be participating in a sound editing and recording workshop on 05 December. These schools will be attending with their teachers and volunteers. This will be followed by an audio recording session of selected subjects like History, Geography etc. Participating schools will include The Palace School, Sanskar School Maharani Gayatri Devi School for Girls, Maharaja Sawai Mansingh Vidyalaya, Maharaja Sawai Bhawani Singh School, among others.

These walkthroughs will help highlight the unique features of the Museum like the tactile aids, galleries and toilets with well-equipped ramp access. Such measures are a step towards the Museum’s unique initiative to enhance sensory access of otherwise visual medium so that the collection can also be accessed by children of special needs.
