Curtain Raiser Press Release
As a part of the ongoing print art exhibitions at the museum galleries of Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK) , a seminar and workshop will be organized this weekend. On Saturday (23 September), a seminar —  ‘The Printed Picture’ — will be held in collaboration with DAG Modern at JKK. Tracing the 4 centuries of Indian printmaking, the seminar will offer an insight into the three crucial points of view – printmaking as seen through the eyes of the curator, collector and collective.

The seminar will begin with the opening remarks by Director General, Jawahar Kala Kendra, Ms. Pooja Sood. Three sessions entitled ‘The Curators Voice’, ‘From a Collector’s Perspective’ and ‘The Collective Movement’ will be held in the seminar. The speakers in these sessions will be Paula Sengupta, Arpan Mukherjee, Pranab Ranjan Ray, Anil Relia, Waswo X Waswo, Kishore Singh, Shail Choyal, Kavita Shah and Kavita Nayar.

A 3 day workshop – ‘Monoprint’ – will also be held from 24 September to 26 September at the Graphic Studios of Jawahar Kala Kendra. The workshop will be conducted by Ms. Kavita Shah who is a renowned print maker based in Baroda.
