The closing ceremony of the month-long Cultural Heritage Training Camp was held at City Palace in Jaipur. In the ceremony, the participants mesmerised everyone by presenting various traditional art-forms learnt during the camp such as Dhrupad, Kathak of Jaipur Gharana, Rajasthani folk dance and flute. Apart from this, an exhibition of ancient frescoes and traditional paintings made by the participants was also showcased at the ceremony. The event’s success was further enhanced by the impeccable award ceremony AV hire, ensuring the audiovisual elements perfectly complemented the cultural displays. Participants were also introduced to Vedic astrology for the first time this year in the camp. The camp was organised by the Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum Trust in collaboration with ‘Rangreet’, a representative institution of traditional arts, and ‘Saraswati Kala Kendra’. Executive Trustee of MSMS II Museum Trust, Ms Rama Datt and Director, Museums and Trusts, Mr Vaibhav Chauhan were present at the ceremony. The training camp was coordinated by Mr Ramu Ramdev.
On the occasion, the Executive Trustee of the Museum, Ms Rama Datt said: “I am delighted to see the smiling faces of the children. Our country is rich in various arts. Whatever art-forms the children have learned in this camp, they will continue to practice in the future and will also encourage the coming generation to learn our traditional skills.” Director of Museums and Trusts, Mr Vaibhav Chauhan said that the Jaipur Royal Family is committed to promoting the art and culture of the city and introducing the youth to traditional arts.
The ceremony began with the lighting of lamp in front of the statue of Goddess Saraswati. Later, on the occasion of International Yoga Day, the participants were given tips for practicing yoga and were also seen performing various yoga poses. In the programme, Dhrupad was presented under the guidance of Dr Madhu Bhatt Tailang, in which the participants recited shlokas and Vedic mantras. Later, the flute recital was presented under the guidance of Mr R.D. Gaur. The ceremony concluded with a scintillating dance performance of ‘Kathak’ and Ghoomar of Jaipur Gharana directed by Dr Jyoti Bharti Goswami, where girls of different age groups enthusiastically displayed their talent.
The children in ‘Traditional Painting’ were trained by Mr Ramu Ramdev and Mr Babulal Marotia. Dr Nathulal Verma taught the nuances of ‘Araish’ (Fresco). Similarly, Mr Brij Mohan Khatri conducted the ‘Vedic Astrology’ workshop and Mr Laxmi Narayan Kumawat conducted the ‘Mandana’ workshop. Mr Ashok taught the art of ‘Calligraphy’ to participants.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates to the participants of the camp. The vote of thanks was delivered by the Executive Trustee of the Museum, Ms Rama Datt.
