A folk and Classical dance fusion programme ‘Desert Evolves’ 

Jaipur, 7 October: Jaipurites witnessed a captivating ‘Kathak Recital’ performance rendered by Ms Manjiri Kiran and 10 other artistes today at Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK).

The recital commenced with a Storm and the sounds of Morchang, Khartaal, Maand, Sarangi, Pakhawaj, followed by classical Kathak piece, all typically enriched with the flavours of Rajasthan.

Manjiri Kiran’s recital concept ‘Desert Evolves’ took the audience on an intertwined creative journey through music, architectural visuals and dance. The recital reflected the process of evolution from the form of folk to the form of a fully developed and evolved classical. She also elucidated through her dance how any creation is originally dependent and every creative journey culminates into a cosmic connect.

The mesmerizing evening concluded with a ‘Meera Bhajan’ highlighting the eventual culmination of all human endeavours.

Manjiri Kiran were accompanied by Amla Shekar on Padhnat, Ankita Devney on vocals, Pandit Hariharsharan Bhatt on Sitar, Parmeshwar Kathak on Tabla and Dr. Praveen Kumar Arya on Pakhawaj. The programme was conducted by Pranay Bhardwaj.

It is to be recalled that the event was a part of the weekend cultural programmes at JKK.
