The ‘13th World Floral Show – Grand Floral Affair 2020’ has kicked off at Diggi Palace. Foreign delegates from as many as 27 countries have arrived for the show. They have come from countries across the globe like Argentina, Barbados, Brazil, Italy, UK, Zimbabwe, among others. Preparations are in full swing for the 7-day floral extravaganza which will see the participation of 300 competitors and be attended by over 25000 visitors. Around 350 floral installations are being set up for the show.
On the occasion, WAFA India President, Mrs. Kavita Poddar said that the ‘13th World Floral Show’ is a matter of extreme pride for Rajasthan. The show is witnessing participation by delegates from across the globe who are displaying their incredible talent in various competitions and exhibitions. Craft persons are also participating in the show from across the country. Domes have been set up across Diggi Palace. Each dome is displaying a different class of floral exhibit or installation. The competitors will be given a stipulated time in which they will be preparing their floral display. Judges will also be trained for the competition. Judges are also arriving from across the globe to judge the competitors.
It is to be recalled that the ‘Grand Floral Affair’ is being organised for the first time in India. It will be witnessing a panorama of artistic and creative workshops, demonstrations as well as an international-level competition. The mega floral show will on till 1 March at Diggi Palace. The show is being organised by the World Association of Floral Artists (WAFA). The event is being presented by Pushpa Bitan Friendship Society in association with Kamla Poddar Group and supported by Rajasthan Tourism.

The second day will witness a ‘Judges Seminar’ and ‘WAFA Seminar Reunion’ from 10 am to 4 pm and 5 pm to 8 pm at Taj Jai Mahal Palace respectively. The India Bazaar and Food Bazaar will be set up from 12 noon to 7 pm.

‘Grand Floral Affair’ － a World Flower Show & International Seminar － is a tri annual event by WAFA. WAFA is a voluntary & non-profit global organisation of international floral art societies. WAFA encourages art of flower arrangement through workshops, seminars and flower shows. The events promote the exchange of information concerning floral art. The motto of the organisation is to spread friendship through flowers. Founded in 1981 by a group of flower arranging societies, WAFA now has 31 countries as its members.
