Braj Holi Festival in Bharatpur, Deeg and Kaman

 

Jaipur, 4 March: The Department of Tourism (DOT), Government of Rajasthan and the District Administration, Bharatpur have organized Braj Holi Festival from 7 to 8 March. The two-day festival will be celebrated in Deeg, Kaman and Bharatpur in the Bharatpur District.

On 7 March from 1 pm folk artistes from different parts of Rajasthan will give performances Bham Rasiya, Dhola, Chakri, Tera Taali, Kacchi Ghodi, Bahrupiya Swang at the world famous Deeg Palace with the backdrop of the colourful fountains. On the same day, Krishna Ballet Program will be organised by Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra of New Delhi in the evening.

On 8 March, Kaman will host various Holi festivals like Gulal Holi, Kanuj Gulaal Holi, Doodh-Dahi Holi, Laddu Holi, Phoolon ki Holi at various temples like Shri Gokul Chandrama, Shree Madan Mohan, Radha Vallabh and Gopinath. A religious procession will start from Gopinath Mandir and end at Radha Vallabh Mandir. In this procession Phoolon ki Holi and Latthmar Holi will also be displayed. There will also be an evening cultural programme and fireworks display at Kot Upar Stadium.

On 8 March, renowned Bollywood singer Kumar Sanu is set to perform in the evening mega-event at MSJ Collage Ground in Bharatpur.

On both the days, the Forest Department and Tourism Department of Rajasthan in association with Keoladeo National Park will also organize ‘Nature Walk for Children’ and ‘Bird Fair/talk/seminar’. All events will be under the guidance of Programme Director, Mr. Bijo Joy. There will also be various rural sports, kabaddi matches, women’s wrestling, tug of war and cricket played at the Lohagarh Stadium.
