As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK), Department of Art and Culture, Government of Rajasthan and Jaipur Kathak Kendra organised ‘Basant Parv’ on the occasion of Basant Panchami in Rangayan. Artistes enthralled the audience with colourful musical and dance performances. The chief guest on the occasion was Joint Secretary, Department of Art and Culture, Government of Rajasthan, Shri Pankaj Ojha. The programme began with ‘Saraswati Vandana’.
This was followed by the musical performance, ‘Basant Vandan’ directed by music composer and singer, Shri Rajiv Bhatt. Songs themed on the spring season like ‘Jagat Janani Jwala Mukhi Mata Saraswati’, ‘Kusumal Kusum-Varan Arpan Hai’, ‘Dekho Basant Bahar Aayi’, ‘Basant Hai Aaya Basanti’, ‘Aao Re Aao Sakhi’, etc. were presented. Participating artistes included – Shri Rajiv Bhatt, Shikha Bhatt, Devvrat Bhatt, Rekha Bhatt and Varsha Vijayvargiya. They were accompanied by – Mr Piyush Kumar on Keyboard, Mr Sawan Dangi on Tabla and Mr Mahesh Khande on Octapad and Manjire.
Thereafter, Kathak dance performance, ‘Nav Basant Aaya Sakhi Ri’ directed by renowned Kathak artiste, Dr Rekha Thakar was showcased. Along with an energetic display of the Kathak of Jaipur Gharana, three compositions on the spring season – ‘Koyaliya Bole Amua Ki Dar’, ‘Nav Vasant Aaya’ and ‘Kunj Kunjvan Nikunj’ were performed. Performing artistes were – Gargi Sharma, Shagun Sharma, Chitransh Tanwar, Prerna Kaushik and Ananya Dalvi. The accompanists included Dr Praveen Arya (Pakhawaj), Mr Munna Lal Bhatt (Vocals), Mr Harihar Sharan Bhatt (Sitar), Mr Moinuddin Khan (Sarangi) and Mr Muzaffar Rahman (Tabla).
