Jaipur, 10 April: 3 ‘special’ girls from Rajasthan, with intellectual disability, who had won Bronze medals at the Special Olympics Winter, held at Austria in March 2017, were felicitated at a program at Umang in Jaipur today morning. They were present with their coaches and family members.

The Rajasthan Minister for Sports, Mr. Gajendra Singh Khimsar, felicitated Dulfisha of Umang (Jaipur); Manorama Jaina of Milestones (Jaipur) and Poonam Bhati from Jodhpur who won bronze medals in floor hockey for India. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Khimsar praised the hard work and determination of the players. He emphasised the importance of sports in daily life for school children. He assured that the Government will take necessary steps in providing assistance to the children who are interested and excelling in sports.

The Chairperson of Umang, Mrs Bina Kak said. ‘The girls have really made us proud’. Area Director of Special Olympics Mr U.K. Pandey who had come from Delhi for the event provided the details of Special Olympics.

‘The girls are an inspiration and shining stars who have proved that with hard work and passion anything is possible’, said Mrs Deepak Kalra the Director of Umang.
