On the occasion of Dussehra and Vijayadashami, Sawai Padmanabh Singh performed traditional puja as per customs at City Palace today. During the puja, he first worshipped the weapons in Chandra Mahal. This was followed by the Horse puja, Gaj puja and ‘Paalki’ puja at Sarvatobhadra Chowk. As per the tradition, the ‘Neelkanth’ bird was also released at Jai Pol. Later, Sawai Padmanabh presented the Rath Yatra of Shri Sita Ram Ji and performed puja aarti. On this occasion, former ‘thakurs’ and ‘thikanedaars’ of Jaipur were present, who met Sawai Padmanabh Singh and gave him best wishes for the Dussehra festival.
