Amrapali Museum in collaboration with USA’s organisation, ‘Corporate Diwali Diversity Group’ organised the prestigious ‘Diwali Mayoral Lights Awards’ ceremony in the museum premises on Saturday evening. The programme began with the lighting of lamps by the USA delegates and Guests of Honour. During the ceremony, the founder of the Amrapali Museum, Rajiv Arora was honoured for his outstanding contribution in promoting Indian craftsmanship and culture. On this occasion, Rajiv Arora expressed his elation and said, “I am truly humbled and overwhelmed to receive this honour today. It fills me with immense pride and gratitude, not just for myself, but for everyone at Amrapali. Our jewellery and museum are the result of the dedication, hard work, and passion of my colleagues and team members. We remain steadfast in our commitment to celebrate and promote the beauty of Indian craftsmanship and tradition, keeping our heritage alive.” It is noteworthy that this award is being presented to Rajiv Arora by the office of the Mayor of New Jersey, Ravi Bhalla, marking a proud moment for Jaipur and Rajasthan.
During the event, the representatives of the Mayor’s Office of New Jersey / New York; The Corporate Diwali (TCD) Trustee, Kelli Vincent Rodriguez; TCD Founder and President, Manisha Mundhra Beriwala; Co-Founder of Amrapali Museum, Rajesh Ajmera, Tarang Arora and other delegates from USA’s organisation ‘Corporate Diwali Diversity Group’ were present.
Speaking on the occasion, Trustee of TCD, Kelli Vincent Rodriguez said, “At TCD, we celebrate the diversity and strength of the world. We are all different, and this diversity is the strength of society. The distinct identity of each individual makes a part of a prosperous community. When people from different religious beliefs, socio-economic statuses, languages, and geographical backgrounds share their experiences and knowledge, they empower their community and society as a whole. This diversity plays a vital role in empowering women.”
Founder and President of TCD, Manisha Mundhra Beriwala said, “Corporate Diwali is building a diverse and inclusive community with relationships, culture and celebrations as its core principles. Our programmes emphasise the harmony of mind-body-spirit, as well as foster sisterhood and networking relationships. Through the ‘Diwali Mayoral Light Awards’ we honour community leaders, small businesses and change-makers from various backgrounds who have contributed to community services.”
Earlier, Tarang Arora welcomed all the guests, stating, “I am elated to represent Amrapali Jewels at this ceremony today. It is a testament to the passion and dedication of my father, Rajiv Arora, that we all have gathered here today to celebrate it. Through Amrapali, he not only revived traditional art forms but also did the crucial work of bringing them to the modern audience. By reviving ancient enamelling techniques, he ensured that Indian craftsmanship is incorporated into contemporary fashion as per current times. This ensured that people not only wear the jewellery, but also carry a story, a tradition and India’s heritage with them.”
The highlight of the ceremony was the captivating performance by an artist from the United States, who mesmerised the audience with the music. Adding to the festivities, a Diwali candle-lighting ceremony was held, symbolising light and unity. The event also marked the release of Diwali Diversity Magazine, Volume 3, celebrating cultural harmony and diversity.
It is to be noted that the prestigious ‘Diwali Mayoral Lights Awards’ are a celebration of diversity and empowerment, dedicated to honouring the spirit of Diwali, cultural heritage, and community unity.
