Jaipur, 12 May: The ‘Jajam Baithaks’, to be organized in the forthcoming Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet (GRAM) in Kota from 24 to 26 May, will prove to be a boon for farmers. The farmers of the Kota division will be able to discuss and find solutions for their problems relating to Agriculture, Horticulture and Animal Husbandry from 24 May to 26 May. This was informed today by the Principal Secretary, Agriculture, Ms. Neelkamal Darbari.

The Principal Secretary further said that through these ‘Jajam Baithaks’, farmers will be able to increase their incomes by adopting the modern and global best practices of agriculture and allied sectors. Apart from ‘Jajam Baithaks’, GRAM  Kota will also feature Exhibition, Smart Farm, Inaugural Session, Seminars, among others in which more than 30,000 farmers are expected to participate.

It is to be recalled that only recently Agriculture Minister, Dr. Prabhulal Saini had inspected Kota’s RAC Ground — the venue where the event will take place. He had expressed satisfaction on the preparations for GRAM.

In the ‘Baithaks’ focusing on Agriculture, modern techniques of crop cultivation in accordance with climate change will be taught. Information about the advanced techniques of Organic Farming will also be shared on the occasion. In addition to this, farmers will also get to know about the future possibilities of food processing and value addition in the state as well as the policies of the Co-operative Sector. In these Baithaks, farmers will also get expertise about the problems and solutions relating to Agriculture Marketing as well as the existing facilities of the Government.

Similarly, in the Baithaks relating to Horticulture, farmers will be informed about the modern techniques of cultivation of oranges, guavas and other fruits. Protective farming of vegetables, advanced farming techniques of coriander, garlic and spice crops as well as their quality production and export opportunities will also be discussed. Furthermore, the post harvest management of flowers, fruits and vegetables will also be highlighted in the sessions. Apiculture and cultivation of medicinal as well as fragrant plants in order to increase farmers’ income will also be discussed in these Baithaks. Subject experts will also throw light on the marketing related problems of flowers and vegetables as well as their solutions.

In the Baithak themed on Animal Husbandry, farmers will be acquainted with ways to improve and increase the indigenous breeds of Rajasthan, the advanced methods of animal husbandry and remedies for prevention of irregular reproduction as well as infertility. Fish rearing and scientific methods to improve the breeds of sheep and goats will also be taught to in order to enable the farmers to earn additional incomes. New entrepreneurship opportunities like poultry, camel rearing as well as maintenance of horses will also be discussed in these Baithaks.

About ‘Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet 2017, Kota’ (GRAM)

GRAM Kota will be held from 24 to 26 May 2017 at RAC Parade Ground, Shivpura, Kota in Rajasthan. The event is being jointly organised by the Government of Rajasthan and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) .

Government of Rajasthan looks forward to replicate GRAM 2016’s accomplishment at Kota in Rajasthan. One of the core objectives of GRAM Kota would be to expose the farmers of the Kota Division to best agriculture practices and define the next qualitative leap in Kota’s agriculture growth story.

The event will bring all stakeholders – farmers from in and around Kota, academicians, technologists, agribusiness companies and policy makers.
