10th Edition of the Conclave

 

Jaipur, 14 March: Organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the 10th edition of the ‘Skills & HR Conclave’ will be held tomorrow (15 March) at the SMS Convention Centre in Jaipur.The theme for Skills & HR Conclave is “Education to Skilling to Employment: Designing a System that Works”. This was informed by the Director & Head of the CII Rajasthan State Office, Mr. Nitin Gupta today.

He further stated that the objective of conclave is to provide a platform to the stakeholders to discuss, brainstorm and evaluate the efforts put in for creating skilled workforce in the state as per the requirements of the industry and challenges being faced as also to share and promote best practices in the sector. It will also have discussions on the best practices in HR to retain best talent pool, he added.

The Inaugural Session of the Conclave will be addressed by the Chairman, (RSLDC), Government of Rajasthan, Mr Ashok Jain; Principal Secretary Labour, Government of Rajasthan, Mr Rajat Mishra; MD, National Skill Development Corporation, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India, Mr Manish Kumar; Chairman, Secure Meters, Mr Salil Singhal; Chairperson CII Northern Region, Ms Rumjhum Chatterjee and Vice-Chairman, CII Rajasthan State Council, Mr Basantt Khaitan. The welcome address will be given by the Chairman, CII Rajasthan State Council & Managing Director, Gravita India Ltd, Mr Rajat Agrawal.

There will be two plenary sessions during the conclave. The first Plenary Session will be ‘Creating Centers of Excellence for Strengthening Skill Initiatives in the State’. It will be based on the Policy interventions for strengthening, suggesting ways to improve school education, skill initiatives in state and industry participation for creating centres of excellences. This session will be chaired byChief Operating Officer, Mahindra Worldcity Jaipur, Mr Sanjay Srivastava.  The speakers in the session will be : Mr Pankaj Dubey, MD & CEO, Eicher Motors; Prof Narendra P. Kaushik, Vice Chancellor, Rajasthan Technical University, Kota; Dr Aquil Busrai, Chief Executive Officer, Aquil Busrai Consulting; Mr Deepak Bhardwaj, Vice President – Strategy, Investment, CSR and Corporate Relation, Samsung India Electronics Pvt Ltd. and Mr Dilip Pattanayak, Head HR, Hindustan Zinc Ltd.

Similarly, the second Plenary Session will be : ‘Identifying the Ways to Create Future Ready Talent Pool Addressing the Skill Gap of Available & Required Manpower’. This session will focus on brainstorming for suggesting ways to create future ready talent pool. Furthermore, discussions on ‘how the gap between the available and required talent pool can be bridged’ will be held. The Session will also focus on steps required to address the skill sets of Graduate as well as Post Graduate students including Engineering, Management and other streams of higher education courses.

This session will be chaired by Mr. Ajay K Gupta, Convenor – CII Panel on Education & Skills & MD, Kamtech Associates. The speakers in the session will be : Mr Sushil Baveja, Head HR, DCM Shriram Ltd.; Mr Praveen K Sinha, Associate Vice President – Corporate HR, Escorts Ltd; Mr. Shashi Kant Sharma, Joint Director – Training, Government of Rajasthan; Brig (Dr) Surjit Singh Pabla, President,  Bharatiya Skill Development University (BSDU); Mr Nitin Barekere, Group Head  – HR, Narayana Health and Mr. Puneet Mittal, Managing Director, Pratham Software.
