UNION MINISTER GAJENDRA SINGH SHEKHAWAT TO ATTEND IHHA ANNUAL CONVENTION

Representatives of the Indian Heritage Hotels Association (IHHA) met the Union Minister of Tourism, Government of India, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat to extend a formal invitation to their upcoming Annual Convention and Annual General Meeting (AGM). Accepting the invitation, the Minister confirmed his participation in the programme on the morning of 7 September. The event is scheduled to take place from 5 to 8 September at Kanota Castle in Jaipur.

Present during the meeting were IHHA Secretary General, Captain Gaj Singh Alsisar, along with Prithvi Singh Kanota, Deepraj Bharatpur, Shatrunjay Deogarh, Abhimanyu Alsisar and Bhrigu Deogarh.

It is to be noted that IHHA, formed in the year 1990, is the first organisation to promote heritage tourism by preserving and reviving heritage hotels. The first annual convention of IHHA was organised to revive the rich, cultural, historical and architectural heritage of India. The convention was held on 21 and 22 September 2012 at Ranthambore. Since then, the convention has been held annually. Notably, last year marked the first time the IHHA AGM and Convention were hosted outside Rajasthan, in the state of Tamil Nadu.

There are a total of 206 heritage hotels pan India and about 140 heritage hotels in Rajasthan.
