Anita Choudhary from Niwai village in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan, who is also a distance education student of Manipal University Jaipur, will be representing India in Paralympics 2024 this year. Anita has been selected in the Rowing (PR3 Double Mixed) 2km team.
Anita is not only an excellent athlete who brought laurels to India by winning a silver medal in the Asian Para Games 2023, but she is also a brilliant student. She has a keen interest in studies and wishes to fulfill every dream of her parents.
Anita’s father, Dhanaram Khichad, was a former Subedar in the Indian Army. The phase of struggle in Anita’s life began when one of her legs was severely damaged in a road accident about 10 years ago, due to which it had to be amputated. Despite this, Anita never gave up and gave a new direction to her life.
Steps towards dreams
Anita always dreamed of winning a medal for India in the Olympics. She continued to prepare for competitive exams along with her master’s degree studies. After winning a silver medal in the Asian Para Games held in China, Anita is now going to participate in the Paralympics 2024 starting from September 28.

This step of Anita is a proud moment not only for her but for the entire Rajasthan and the country. Anita has proved that all that is needed to dream and make them come true is willpower and courage.
