Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet 2017

Jaipur, 21 May: The forthcoming Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet (GRAM) in Kota will have a number of seminars. These will be based on the theme – ‘Harnessing Agricultural Abundance of Kota Region: Cultivating Opportunities through Diversification and Innovation’. This was informed today by Director, Agriculture, Government of Rajasthan, Mr.Vijay Pal Singh.

On day one (24 May) – there will be two seminars – ‘Cultivating Opportunities through 4 Ws of Kota Agriculture (Warehouse, Water Availability, Women Empowerment, Workforce Development)’. Apart from discussing the 4 Ws, Senior Agriculture Economist, World Bank, Mr. Edward W. Bresnyan will also throw light on how to converge the 4 Ws for Kota Agricultural Transformation. Minister for Water Resources, Indira Gandhi Canal Project, Command Area Development and Water Utilization, Government of Rajasthan, Dr. Ram Pratap will also address the attendees of the session.

This will be followed by a session on ‘Agricultural Abundance of Kota: Strengths and Prospects’. This will have discussions on the agricultural strengths of Kota division like Soybean, Mustard, Citrus fruits, Seeds Spices as well as technologies for semi arid tropics. Minister for Agriculture, Government of Rajasthan, Mr. Prabhu Lal Saini will also address the session along with other speakers.

Similarly, the second day (25 May) will witness three sessions. In the first seminar entitled ‘Agricultural Abundance of Kota: Emerging Opportunities’, discussions will revolve around potential areas of growth such as Nigella seeds (seed spices), Ashwagandha & Safed Muesli (Medicinal Crops), Pulses, Horticultural Crops, Barley, Agro Forestry, among others. The Minister for Co-operative, Gaupalan, Government of Rajasthan, Mr. Ajay Singh will also be addressing the session.

In the session ‘Turning Innovation to Competitive Advantage in Agriculture’ topics such as Digitization, Water Use Efficiency, Organic Agriculture, Soil Health, among others will be discussed. Minister for Food & Civil Supply, Consumer Affairs, Mr. Babu Lal Verma will also give an address during the session.

‘Sustainable Innovations for intensive Animal Husbandry’will be yet another seminar. Presentations will be made on Dairy, Fisheries and Bee Keeping. The Minister of State for Energy, Law & Legal Affairs and Legal Consultancy Office, Government of Rajasthan, Mr. Pushpendra Singh will be addressing the audience on the occasion.

On the concluding day (26 May) there will be a session on ‘Promoting Agri Tourism in Kota Region’. Minister for Public Works Department, Transport, Government of Rajasthan, Mr. Yunus Khan will be addressing the audience along with experts on tourism.

About ‘Global Rajasthan Agritech Meet 2017, Kota’ (GRAM)

GRAM Kota will be held from 24 to 26 May 2017 at RAC Parade Ground, Shivpura, Kota in Rajasthan. The event is being jointly organised by the Government of Rajasthan and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) .Government of Rajasthan looks forward to replicate GRAM 2016’s accomplishment at Kota in Rajasthan. One of the core objectives of GRAM Kota would be to expose the farmers of the Kota Division to best agriculture practices and define the next qualitative leap in Kota’s agriculture growth story.The event will bring all stakeholders – farmers from in and around Kota, academicians, technologists, agribusiness companies and policy makers.
