Jet Black and Lily White by Thalias Kompagnons
A MELANGE OF MUSIC, PAINTING AND THEATRE MESMERIZES CHILDREN AT JKK
Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK) witnessed a unique musical theatre “Jet Black & Lily White” which was greatly enjoyed by the children aged between 4 to 14 years. Presented by a German company, Thalias Kompagnons, the featuring artiste in the performance was Joachim Torbahn.
Using the simple tools of a black board and white paint, the performance draws the children into a fantastical world of images as the story emerges. The productions of Thalias Kompagnons represent mixtures of painting, drama and music theatre.
With the live painting and music – Joachim created a synthesis of art and theater. Just like the demonstration of different techniques of painting, the story also develops and changes simultaneously.
The programme was attended by children of various schools of the city like Cambridge Court, Ryan, SV Public School, Tagore International, among others. In the evening, many parents brought their children to the show.
