- A folk and Classical fusion programme ‘Desert Evolves’
- Conceptualized and Choreographed by Ms. Manjiri Kiran
Jaipur, 6 October: As a part of the weekend cultural programme at Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK), a Kathak Recital – ‘Desert Evolves’ will be organised tomorrow (7 October). It is conceptualized and choreographed by nationally acclaimed and internationally acknowledged ‘Kathak Exponent’, Ms. Manjiri Kiran. In this fusion dance performance, Ms. Kiran will be accompanied by 10 other folk artistes.
Currently based in Jaipur, Ms. Manjiri Kiran’s dance has an influence of ‘Jaipur Gharana’while retaining the essence of the teachings of her stalwart guru, Late Smt. Rohini Bhate of Pune.
‘Desert Evolves’ takes one on an intertwined creative journey through music, architectural visuals and dance, to understand the process of evolution from the form of folk to the form of a fully developed and evolved classical.
The programme will be held at the Rangayan Auditorium at 7 pm. The entry to the event is on a complimentary and first come first serve basis.
