GITB 2025 ENDS WITH EUPHORIA AMONG THE TRAVEL TRADE

The 14th edition of the Great Indian Travel Bazaar (GITB) 2025 concluded with euphoria among the travel trade at the Novotel Jaipur Convention Centre in Sitapura. This edition was dedicated to the promotion of inbound tourism. The buyers and sellers expressed great satisfaction with the networking opportunities. A total of 270 major inbound Foreign Tour Operators (FTOs) from 53 countries participated as foreign buyers in this mega event. Foreign buyers expressed great enthusiasm at the diverse and expansive range of tourism offerings showcased at GITB 2025. They conveyed keen interest in promoting these destinations to their clients in their respective regions.

On the concluding day, an award ceremony was held which honoured exemplary contributions to India’s tourism sector across Government, Private and Special categories for the ‘best stall’. In the Government category, Odisha Tourism was the winner with Goa Tourism as the first runner up and Madhya Pradesh Tourism and Uttar Pradesh Tourism jointly as second runners up. In the Private category, ITC Hotels Ltd and Sita were the winners. The first runner up was Oberoi Hotels and the second runner up was Wyndham Hotels and Resorts. Similarly, in the Special category, the winner was Sahdev Bagh.

The 3-day GITB was organised by the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). It is supported by leading national and regional associations like Hotel & Restaurant Association of Rajasthan (HRAR), Indian Heritage Hotels Association (IHHA) and Rajasthan Association of Tour Operators (RATO). India as a destination was adequately represented by all the states – Rajasthan (Host State), Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Jharkhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Andaman & Nicobar, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, as well as Delhi, and the Indian tourism fraternity from across India.

Talking about the success of the Mart, Additional Director, Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, Anand Tripathi, said, “This edition has been hugely successful. There have been fruitful B2B meetings between the visiting FTOs and tourism product owners. I am glad that RATO is organising a familiarisation tour (FAM) for the visiting tour operators. They will be visiting different parts of Rajasthan.”

Co-Chair of FICCI Rajasthan, Surendra Singh Shekhawat, said, “The B2B meetings have been so successful that I am expecting an 8-10% jump in the business in the next season. This edition of GITB has proved once again that this mart serves as a catalyst for the growth of tourism in the country. ”

President of Federation of Hospitality and Tourism of Rajasthan (FHTR), Kuldeep Singh Chandela, said, “This edition of the GITB witnessed great satisfaction among both buyers and sellers. It has been informed to me by many delegates that the B2B meetings have been enriching and successful for them.”

Talking about the participation from the hotel industry, the President of the Indian Heritage Hotels Association (IHHA), Capt. Gaj Singh Alsisar said, “The heritage hotels always participate in a good number at the GITB. In this edition, as many as 30 heritage hotels from Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Gujarat and even Kerala have been a part of GITB. The visiting tour operators have been finding heritage hotels apt as Wedding destinations.”

President of the RATO, Mahendra Singh Rathore, informed that they have organised FAM Tours. The tours will cover 3 itineraries, namely, Jaipur-Sariska-Ranthambore-Jaipur; Jaipur-Devgarh-Pushkar-Jaipur and Jaipur-Jodhpur-Jaisalmer-Bikaner-Jaipur. The tour will leave in the morning on Wednesday (7 May).
