A two-day 6th monthly golf tournament, ‘SK Jaipur Open-Super League 2024’ was organised at Rambagh Golf Club (RGC) in Jaipur. Players from 4 houses (Albert, Jaigarh, Nahargarh, and Amber House) participated in the tournament. After the tournament, awards were given to both winners and runner-ups in different categories. The gross winner was Hemendra Choudhary (Jaigarh House) and the gross runner-up was Manoviraj Singh (Albert House). All the winners were awarded by the Captain of Rambagh Golf Club, Shirish Sacheti; Honorary Secretary, Hem Singh Khangarot and Tournament Convener, Sharad Agarwal. On this occasion, the executive committee members of the club Sachindra Mishra, Yogesh Bansal, Ajay Singh Khichi, Dr Rajeev Lochan were also present. The title sponsor of the tournament is SK Finance.

Shirish Sacheti informed that in handicap category 00-11, Vipul Mishra (Albert House) was the winner and Manish Kumawat (Jaigarh House) was the runner-up. In handicap category 12-18, Reehan Arora (Jaigarh House) was the winner and Abhishek Sand (Amber House) was the runner-up. In handicap category 19-24, Mrigendra Singh (Nahargarh House) was the winner and Ashwani Saxena (Albert House) was the runner-up.

In the tournament, the winner of Veteran Golfer was Sunil Mehrotra (Amber House) and the runner-up was Kamal Bordia (Jaigarh House). For the Ladies Golfer category, Shiksha Jain (Albert House) was the winner and Sarah Choudhary (Amber House) was the runner-up.

The names of winners in other categories are: The winner of ‘Nearest to Pin’ was Deep Karan (Albert House); the winner of ‘Longest Drive’ was Abhyudaya Rawat (Albert House); the winner of ‘Longest Drive – Veterans’ was Dr B.M. Raturi (Albert House). Similarly, the winner of ‘Straight Drive’ was Rajeev Kasliwal (Amber House), and the winner of ‘Straight Drive – Veterans’ was Dr Jagdish Singh (Nahargarh House).

The theme poster of Jaipur Jewellery Show (JJS 24) was launched by the Femina Miss India World 2023, Nandini Gupta at Rambagh Palace. On this occasion, the JJS-Ruby Promotion Group too was launched. This was in the presence of the Organising Committee of the JJS as well as a number of other well-known jewellers. On the occasion, Nandini Gupta remarked that Rajasthan is celebrated for its warm people, delicious food, and dazzling jewelry. JJS is playing a significant role in uniting the jewelry and gems community, and it is a matter of pride to see Jaipur’s jewellery recognized across the globe. JJS stands as a testament to the ongoing efforts to safeguard the state’s rich jewellery heritage, she added.

On the occasion, Chairman of the JJS organising committee, Vimal Chand Surana informed that the theme for this year is ‘Ruby’.  He said that in the last 22 years JJS has attained extraordinary stature with the support of the exhibitors, visitors and promotion partners etc. This year JJS will be even more bigger and better.

Honorary Secretary of JJS, Rajiv Jain said that the show has come a long way from when it was launched in 2004 with 67 booths, to now having as many as 1128 booths, with 211 still in waiting. In addition to marketing and promotions, the challenges related to ruby such as cutting, polishing, treatment and certification etc. will also be taken up during the theme promotion. The Jaipur Jewellery Design Festival (JJDF) will showcase the skill of the new jewelry designers, artisans and crafts persons.

Citing the example of Mozambique, the world’s largest ruby-producing country, Director, Gemfields India, Gopal Kumar, raised the trade participants and business associates for their remarkable efforts in uplifting the social status of one of the world’s poorest nations. He also mentioned that Gemfields has been proudly collaborating with JJS for over a decade and looks forward to continuing this journey.

The function was conducted by the JJS Joint Secretary and Spokesperson, Mr Ajay Kala who said that JJS continues to be number 1 B2C, and number 2 B2B show in the country. The JJS December show will witness new dimensions for increasing the trade, he said.

Bhartiya Skill Development University (BSDU) has secured third place in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Ranking 2024 under the Skill Universities category. 4th International Conference on Mathematical Modelling, Computational Intelligence Techniques and Renewable Energy (MMCITRE – 2024) is being held at Manipal University Jaipur. This three days event is being organised by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Manipal University Jaipur in association with University of Barcelona, Spain; RACEF Society, Barcelona, Spain; UCSC Chile, UPTC Colombia and Forum for Interdisciplinary Mathematics (FIM), Gujarat Chapter. The inaugural session started with lighting of lamp and Saraswati Vandana. Prof. Kalpana Sharma, Head of Mathematics department welcomed all the delegates and shared the key highlights of the department. The convener of the conference Dr. Ram Naresh Saraswat told that total 400 research articles were received at the conference from across the globe.

 Dean, Faculty of Science, Prof Lalita Ledwani, in her speech mentioned that mathematical modelling is the need of today’s world as we embark on the journey to find the cost effective solutions to our problems. Speaking at the conference, Registrar, Prof. Nitu Bhatnagar briefed about inception and accelerating growth of Manipal University Jaipur. The president, Prof. G.K. Prabhu underlined the importance of mathematical modelling in his address. He gave an example of human heart which acts a pumping machine and working of it can be understood via modelling. He also corroborated the idea of mathematical modelling with artificial neural network and computed tomography. A souvenir of the conference was also unveiled during the inaugural ceremony.

The chief guest of the event Prof. S Sundar, Director, NIT Mizoram who joined the event online said that his research team is trying to understand the flow of rivers by doing modelling and simulations. The other conveners of this international mega event from collaborative institutes from abroad shared their views online. Two of them were Prof. J.M. Merigo Lindahl from University of Technology, Sydney, Australia and Prof. Ernesto Leon Castro from UCSC, Chile. The guest of honour, Prof. G.P. Raja Sekhar from IIT Kharagpur mentioned that every system in nature has some mathematical model. Our task is to decode it to make innovations. He emphasized on networking. Another guest of honor, Prof. Sree Hari Rao Vadrevu, Director and Principal Research Scientist, Foundation for Scientific Research, Hyderabad motivated the younger researchers to focus on fundamental ideas and come up with such theories which are universal in nature. The program ended with formal vote of thanks by co-convener of the event Dr. Mohd. Rizwanullah.

Manipal University Jaipur organized the second Convocation for its online students on 25th May 2024. The convocation was held for 1,308 students who successfully completed MBA (Master of Business Administration), MCA (Master of Computer Applications), MCom (Master of Commerce), and MA JMC (Master of Arts in Journalism & Mass Communication) degrees. The in-person convocation ceremony was held in Jaipur, at the Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ) campus.

As per UGC guidelines, the online degree is recognized as equivalent to the conventional degrees offered on campuses and students can apply for all job opportunities and higher education as per their eligibility. Manipal University Jaipur launched its first batch of online degree programs in April 2021, and the MBA (Master of Business Administration) and MCA (Master of Computer Applications) students who commenced their study in the first batch graduated in December 2023.

The Convocation was inaugurated by Dr G K Prabhu, President, Manipal University Jaipur. The event was presided over by other top dignitaries including Cmde (Dr) Jawahar M Jangir, Pro President, Manipal University Jaipur, Dr Mallikarjuna Gadapa, Director, Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), Manipal University Jaipur, and Mr Ambrish Sinha, CEO, UNext Learning. The Chief Guest was Gautam Khanna, Senior Vice President, Mergers & Acquisition, Wipro Digital & Cloud.

INIFD Jaipur’s Annual Designer Display 2023 ‘Dhaaga’ concluded on Sunday at Rajasthan International Center (RIC) on the theme ‘Rajasthan In My Soul’. In this designer display, students showcased handicrafts from their collection, depicting the historical monuments and heritage of Rajasthan. Creative designs of students that have been showcased at the prestigious events in New York, London and Lakme Fashion Weeks were also showcased during the show. The show showcased various collections like ‘Reflection of Purity’, ‘One Night in Thar’, ‘Feeling Digitally Blue’, ‘Traditionally Global’, ‘Rudali Goths’, ‘Blushing Breeze’, ‘Mahri Rajasthani Dhani’, etc. The Chairperson of Kamla Poddar Group (KPG), Kamla Poddar, Abhishek Poddar and Roma Poddar were present during the event. The Chief Guest for the event was CEO, First India, Dr Jagdeesh Chandra.

The event also paid tribute to the internationally renowned Rajasthani poet, Late Shri Kanhaiyalal Sethia by showcasing an entire collection of sarees along with digitally printed poems. National and international artists, Mr Ashok Rahi, Mr Brij Ballabh Udaiwal, Dr Chinmay Mehata, Padmashre Gulabo (Sapera), Padmashre Ram Kishore Darewala, Padmashre Shakir Ali, Padmashree Tilak Gitayi, Mr Vidhyasagar Upadhayay, Mr Hemant Trivedi, Mr Ram Gopal Saini, Ms Triptee Pandey and Mr Vinod Bharadwaj were honoured with ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ at the event.

Eminent artist Gulabo (Sapera) along with her daughters and granddaughters also gave a beautiful dance performance on the occasion.

The costumes designed by students featured “Gotta, Thikri, Katdana, Rogan art, Applique work along with Ombre dye, Daabu and Block print”, Phad and Blue Pottery. Fabrics like “Khadi, Malmal, Cotton Cambric, Georgette” etc. The collections were designed under the guidance of India’s internationally trained fashion designer, Mr Hemant Trivedi.

The 3rd edition of the CII AU Bank Golf Invitational Cup was played today at the Rambagh Golf Club. Around 120 participants from Rajasthan and NCR participated in the event. The awards were given away to the winners in 9 categories. Former cricketer, Mr. Ajay Jadeja won the award for the Best Outstation Golfer. While the prize for the Best CII Golfer was bagged by Mr. Praveen Maheshwari, in handicap category 0-12, Mr. Rishi Pal Singh won the award. Similarly, the awards for the Best Lady Golfer and Best Veteran Golfer were bagged by Dr. Abha Gupta and Mr. Ashwini Yadav respectively. The prizes were given away by former cricketers, Mr. Ajay Jadeja and Mr. Madan Lal, renowned woman golfer, Ms. Tvesa Malik, Chairman, CII Rajasthan State Council, Mr. Gaurav Rungta, Senior Director & Head, CII, Rajasthan, Mr. Nitin Gupta, Vice Chairman, CII Rajasthan State Council, Mr Abhinav Banthia, Head, Credit Card Division, AU Bank, Mr. Mayank Markande.

Expressing his delight at being in Jaipur for the CII AU Bank Golf Tournament, the former cricketer and avid golfer, Mr. Jadeja said that this is a great initiative by CII and AU bank to bring people together outside the office. It will promote a passion for sports and fitness as well among people.

It is worth noting that the tournament was played in Single Query and Modified Table Format. As a part of the CSR initiative of CII and AU bank, t-shirts and jackets were distributed to 150 caddies as well.
