Over 100 stalls are exhibiting unique products and crafts at the ‘Crafts Pavilion’ at the ongoing ‘Rajasthan Heritage Week 2018’ which began on Wednesday at Diggi Palace. These national and State award-winning artisans are showcasing their exclusive collection of Bandhani, Kota Doriya, block printing and indigo blue on Rajasthani Khadi. Fashion labels like – The Princess Diya Kumari Foundation, Rajasthan State Handloom Development Corporation, Awdesh Kumar, Purshottam Chippa, Disha Shekhawat, Khadi Gramodhyog, Sanjhi Art, among others are presenting a variety of products like sarees, bedsheets, bedcovers, dohars , dupattas , shirting materials as well as jewellery from all over the Rajasthan. The Rajasthan Heritage Week will be on till 26 October.
The Princess Diya Kumari Foundation is featuring handwork like embroidery, gota patti work which has been manufactured, stitched and modeled by the women of the organization. On the occasion, they are showcasing the hand crafted products like elephants showpieces, wall hangings and jewellery. Also, apparel like kurtis, shirts, jackets made with khadi is also being showcased at the stall. The organisation does its sampling work at the Badal Mahal and production at Sawai Madhopur.
Gramin Vikas Evam Chetna Sansthan is a fair trade organization in Barmer which is promoting languishing handicrafts as a viable means of creating home based employment for women artisans. In total they have a network of 20,000 women artisans from remote rural Rajasthan in india who develop innovative handmade products like bedsheets, dupattas, cushions, among others. The organization is also exhibiting a traditional collection which ranges from Soof , Pako and Patch embroidery, Applique and Barmer print work for urban market.
