JKK’s in-house theatrical production

Jaipur, 26 October: The school children of Pink City were greatly entertained by JKK’s in house theatrical piece‘Tilchattey Ki Diary’ staged today at Jawahar Kala Kendra. Conceived and Directed by Sukhesh Arora, the play specifically targeted towards children between the ages 10 to 12. Around 180 students from Tagore International School (Mansarovar), St. Edmund’s School Jawahar Nagar and slum children from  Sakhi Bal Niketan Jhalana Dungra saw the play.

Revolving around the theme of climate change, the objective of the play is to stimulate the youth to think proactively and come up with workable solutions to real-world problems.

The play has grown out of a unique and intense process of collaboration. It is a story without a hero or heroine or a villain. It has two cockroaches, one chicken, a farmer, a young girl and two boys who are both subjects and objects- they act and are acted upon. None of them comes out a winner but all of them are losers to some degree. This unique theatre-in-education performance narrates the tale of people and other beings whose lives are affected in one way or another.

Tomorrow (28 October), the same play will be staged at 10:30 am for the students of Ryan’s International School(Jagatpura) and Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan Vidhyashram (Pratap Nagar).
