“THERE IS A NEED TO ORGANISE BOYS’ AWARENESS CAMPS NOW”

                                                                                                                                    –  Diya Kumari

Awareness for the laws and rights for women in the society is growing continually but we need to make the boys aware of them as well. Boys need the awareness more than girls in terms of the rights and laws made for women. This was informed by MLA, Sawai Madhopur, Princess Diya Kumari. She was speaking at the one-day Girls’ Awareness Programme ‘Betiyo ke Badhte Kadam’ held at Rajasthan University (RU) . The programme was organised by National Services Scheme (NSS), Centre for Museology and Conservation.

She further said that the sole reason for girls lagging behind today is their lack of self-confidence. Women today are held down not by the society but their close inner circle. People tell them every day what they can and cannot do. Girls need to become confident of their abilities and inculcate inner strength to place their words before the others and follow their actions through.

As many as 500 female students from – Kanodia College, Kanoria PG Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Biyani Group of Colleges and Rajasthan University were a part of the event. Also present on the occasion were – Actor, Ms. Rajni Jangid; Classical Dancer, Ms. Pooja Nathawat; Social Worker, Ms. Rekha Rathore; Sarpanch, Soda Village, Tonk District, Ms. Chavvi Rajawat; Student Union Representative, Ms. Manisha Meena; Mrs. India 2018, Dr. Shalini Tomar Garssa; Programme Officer, RU Ms. Vandana Agrawal and Head of Female Patrol Police Unit, Ms. Kamal Shekhawat. The programme also saw a cultural performance by the students of Seth Anandi Lal Poddar Institute of Deaf Dumb.
