Around 500 art and artists from over 25 countries to participate

Jaipur, 3 December: The main focus for this year’s Jaipur Art Summit (JAS) is to promote tribal and traditional art forms. This was informed today by Founder of Jaipur Art Summit, Mr. Shailendra Bhatt today at a press briefing. It is to be noted that the 4th edition of Jaipur Art Summit (JAS 2016) is scheduled to begin from 7 December to 11 December at Ravindra Manch.

Mr. Bhatt further informed that around 500 art and artists from over 25 countries like USA, UK, Algeria, Bangladesh, Canada, China, France, Germany, among others will be participating in the summit. He further added that the prime objective of the summit is exchange of knowledge of different art forms from all over the world and to bring back the traditional art which has been overlooked. Many schools and colleges related to this field are also invited to participate. In today’s world because different artists have different thought process, environment, imagination working styles and skills – the summit will be a great platform for the people to witness their art styles and expand horizon.

On the occasion, Former Chairman, Rajasthan Lalit Kala Academy, Mr. Bhawani Shankar Sharma said that the summit’s sole motive is to develop a general sensitivity among people and build an aesthetic environment in the city. Different forms of art, literature, craft and culture will all be in one platform in the summit. The event also holds great opportunities for the budding artists and for everyone who have a taste for art. The man today is living in a world of chaos and with the help of art he can escape that, he further added.

The 5 day event will witness various activities like International Artists Camp; Interactive Sessions; Contemporary Art Talk & Discussions; Art Movies; Art Performance Shows; Calligraphy; Demonstration of Tribal & Traditional Arts; BookReleases; Interactive sessions with authors; Art Exhibition; Site Specific Art Installations; Video Art Installations and Graffiti & Street Art, among others. There will also be Classical Music and Rajasthani Folk Performances during the summit.

Also present on the occasion were Director, JAS, Mr. Mahaveer Sharma; Eminent Artist and Member of JAS, Mr. Vinod Bhardwaj and Director, JAS, Mr. R.B. Gautam.
