“NUTRITION SUPPLEMENTS SHOULD BE TAKEN UNDER PROPER GUIDANCE OF A DOCTOR”
– Director Nutripulse & Sr. Clinical Nutritionist,
Dr Anjali Phatak
Some supplements may have side effects, especially if taken before surgery or with other medicines. Supplements can also cause problems if you have certain health conditions. So consulting a doctor before taking a dietary supplement is very essential. This was informed by Director Nutripulse & Sr. Clinical Nutritionist, Dr Anjali Phatak. She was in conversation with Founder & Director, AnanTaya Decor, Ms. Geetanjali Kasliwal on an interactive session on nutrition needs of women and child held at Molly Moo Ice Cream Cafe. The session was organized to mark the ‘National Safe Motherhood Day’.
Dr. Phatak further said that there are several distinct phases in a woman’s life cycle. Puberty and adolescence, pregnancy, lactation and menopause are three distinct stages marked by significant hormonal changes. Associated with it are special nutritional requirements. While a good diet goes a long way in meeting the increased demands during pregnancy, her pre-conception nutritional status is also important. A well-nourished woman can reduce the risk for maternal and foetal complications.
Owner, Molly Moo Ice Cream Cafe, Shweta Khurana said that such meaningful events will be held at Molly Moo Cafe from time to time. The National Safe Motherhood Day (NSMD) is observed every year on April 11 to create awareness on maternity care for pregnant and lactating women.
